This is the beginning of a journey to get justice for the “residents” of a cemetery that was levelled in the name of progress 67 years ago.
After examing the remains, it was determined that they belonged to the former inmates of the “farm.” 305 skeletons in all were recovered, but is believed that 500 to 700 bodies are still buried on the plot of land at the corner of South and Highland Avenues.
Every so often you come across a memento that reminds you of a singular moment from your childhood. A simple sentiment autographed on the back of a ticket stub brought back a cool memory for me.
Sadly the tradition of the old-fashion family reunion has been lost to the ages.
